About Layla's Artistry
Welcome to Layla's Artistry! I hope you enjoy viewing artworks that has been done throughout my college experience, and perhaps use my artworks as an inspiration. As a Studio Arts student in Dawson College, we learn a variety of art such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and editing. Through this website, you may mainly see nature, abstractions, and paintings.
My work will be abstract landscape. For emotions, it will depend on the person. They will either feel at peace or sad. My goal is to upset anyone with my art. My art process evolved through practice and optimism, however there will be no artwork that will be pleasing to look at without the optimistic emotion through the process. I’d like to take Van Gogh as an example, he hates seeing his art because he wasn’t happy making them through his progress.
I draw my inspirations from Pinterest. I find the pictures and inspirations there more aesthetically pleasing than Google or Pixiv. I begin by taking inspirations online and then sketching. I don’t often enjoy planning everything out with sketching, I enjoy planning everything throughout the process which is why you may see me thinking of what next I should do to my artwork in the middle of the class. I enjoy painting. Watercolour painting specifically since it’s prettier and easier to use in my opinion. I decide the piece is complete when I think I added enough details and when I have no other ideas in mind. I like having my artworks full instead of empty. So if it’s empty, I continue. If it’s full, then I step back and see if I need to add any other small detail before I finish.
